Thai juniors Introduction to cricket

Gymkhana cricket ground was the host for an introduction to cricket day. 16 Children from 7 different Schools, Chakkham, Muangkwak, Sankayom, Ban Jam, Sahakornsong, Huai Keao and Brokcrocnoi took part to an Introduction to hardball cricket clinic, run by the Chris Dodd and Martin Papworth, the CMSCA coaches, were helped on the day by Richard Lockwood who kindly agreed to umpire for us. For the majority of the kids it was there first time on a real cricket field, but even the few that had played before their knowledge was very limited. Chris took them through catching and fielding drills, helped by the HTF boys who were on hand to be assistant coaches for the day, meanwhile Martin and Jun did a batting technique session for a handfull of lucky kids, followed by paired batting game on the artifical wicket, everyone had a chance to bowl and most of the kids got some time in the middle.
