Mick (Sid) Moohan raises 1750.00 Euros for the Hilltribe cricketers sponsorship program!

large product photo   About Sid...

Mick "Sid" Moohan is a regular visitor to the San Miguel International Chiang Mai Sixes. Sid has just completed the Athens marathon and raised 1,750 Euros for our sponsorship program in the process, he wanted to do something special to celebrate his 60th Birthday...what a great way to celebrate it Sid, we are so grateful for all your support and commitment to our cause.
Sid was born Shepherds Bush July 1950, moved to Northern Ireland when young, then relocated and raised in Barking Essex. (still there), He's spent all is working life as an Insurance claims broker and is currently working for AON international (26 years and counting).
Sid took up running in the early 1980’s and joined Barking Road Runners club, and has participated in 30 marathons including several London, New York, Dublin, Snowdonia and now the daddy of them all Athens where it all started 2500 years ago. Luckily Sid fared better than poor old Phiedippedes who finished then dropped dead! Sid only looked dead and was later confirmed as alive!!
Sid reckons he has had a good life and is glad to have the opportunity to give something to those less fortunate than him that didn’t have the same advantages he has been blessed with.
The highlights of his year are his trips to Ios island in Greece and to Chiang Mai sixes (since 1999) for the cricket and the great friendships that are formed or rekindled every year.
These past few years it has been a joy to watch the development of the local youngsters and it has been an absolute pleasure to be able to do a little to help this progress to continue.
Sid raised a total of 3500 euros which is being split between the Hilltribe Kids cricket sponsorship program being run by the CMSCA coaching team, (Chiang Mai Schools Cricket Alliance), and the Richard House Children's Hospice in east London , who provide care and treatment for children with life limiting conditions and support for their families.
Sid said " I Hope to see you all in Chiang Mai in april for next years edition of the Chiang Mai Sixes, keep up the good work everybody"
