Well...Sawasdee cricket is the Thai equivalent to Kwik cricket or Kanga cricket, this form of the game uses no protective gear, uses plastic wickets, bats and a windball, (a rubbery-plastic ball!) its designed as an introduction to cricket for children from the age of 5 to 11.
Normally 8 players per team, each team starts with 50 runs on the scoreboard, batting in pairs, each pair gets two 6 ball over's, each batsman facing the same amount of balls, the boundary law applies, 4 & 6's and running between the wicket to accumulate runs. Each player gets to bowl, (must be a legal straight arm delivery), 1 over including the wicket keeper. Batsmen can be bowled, caught and run out (not at the same time!) and when a batsman is out 5 runs is deducted from the score, wide's and no-balls count as 2 runs and only allowed to be re-bowled once, a 7 ball over is the maximum allowed, the team with the most runs on the board at the end of the game is the WINNER.
I hope that is clear enough? If you need to know more or have any other questions please feel free to contact us, we will try to answer all your questions.
