Chow Kow's sponsored boy's back to winning ways.
CMSCA 3rd U- 19 league game this season between Chow Kow and Gymkhana Elite. Played at the 3G Oval.
Chow Kow won the toss and elected to field first. A weak Gymkhana Elite team batting first was always going to make it a one sided game and it turned out this way. Opening bowler Pong very accurate as usual ended with figures of 1 for 5 off 4 overs, while left armer Jun, one of the quickest bowlers in the league beat the bat consistently finished with 1 for 13 from his 3 overs, only opener Mukesh played with any confidence but his hesitancy between the wicket cost him dearly, run out for 11 and with it any chance of Gymkhana Elite building a competitive total. French junior International Daniel tried to push the score along but was brilliantly caught by Jun at short cover, diving forward very acrobatically to dismiss him for 4. The rest of the batting crumbled with Nikom 2 for 12 from 3 overs and then Choo mopped up the tail with 4 for 5 off 2.5 overs. 17 Extra’s gave the total a lift to 42, only 12.5 overs of the allocated 20 was used by Chow Kow to bowl out the Gymkhana Elite team.
In reply Jun was out first ball bowled around his legs by U-19 Thailand ladies player Parn, but Nikom played some excellent shots in a short innings of 17 from 11 balls with 4 fours. Bonchooai 11 not out and Pong 13 not out saw the game finished in only 4.5 overs, a very easy and comprehensive victory for the Chow Kow Hill tribe boys who needed to get back to winning ways after the loss against CPP in their previous game.
