A really exciting game of competitive cricket between 2 equally balanced teams. Khon Kaen batted first and were restricted by some good accurate bowling by Som 0 wickets for 8 from her 3 over's which included 4 extra's, along with a very tight spell from Ting 2 wickets for 8 from her 3 over's. Khon Kaen managed to finally get going from Nan 0 for 20, Duan 0 for 10 and Ning 0 for 16, Meu bowled straight to stop the flow of runs with 1 wicket for 11 at the end of the innings, the Chiang Mai fielding was good and there was a natural competitiveness all around, but still 75 is a very good score in Girls 15 over cricket!
Chiang Mai girls looked positive in the response, Ting was hoping to repeat her good form from the previous match against Chonburi but was out for 3, Som batted very well and was helped by Pat 9 and Nan 7, no one else could put a decent score together with Som and unfortunately Som was out for 33, a really entertaining innings, just when it looked like the Chiang Mai girls would claim the win, with one run to win required from the last ball, the pair at the crease, Meu and Ning didn't realise that all they had to do was run, so the game was tied, and I'm sure no one expected that a bowl off was actioned to find a winner. It was all even after the first 5 bowlers but then sudden death was the only way to decide the winner and it was a Khon Kaen bowler that claimed the elusive wicket. |
