November 2010

13/11/10: The new season starts with an unlikely win for Chol Phratan Phataek "B"team an all girls team against Gymkhana Juniors at the 3G oval (formally Prem International school). A win for the Chol Phratan Phataek "A" against Gymkhana Elite finished a very successful day for the Doi Saket school.... Read more

08/11/2010: Preparations start for the first Sawasdee tournament of the year at PRC to take place on the 20th November, 9 teams are planned to compete,all coming from different schools, this years competetion should be very competitive!

08/11/2010: News from Jenny (the Duck Lady), Mick (Sid) Moohan has completed the Athens marathon to celebrate his 60th Birthday and raises 1750 Euro!!!!......... for the junior cricketer sponsorship program....A very big THANK YOU to Sid for a great performance... Read more about Sid.

01/11/2010: Work on the new practice nets at (PRC) Prince Royal's College and at Gymkhana, the new artificial and turf wicket is still work in progress, a few more weeks should see the back of it....hopefully!

 

October 2010

01/10/2010: New practice nets are now being built by Eric and Martin, they have now been re-located next to the Tennis courts, unfortunately the weather hasn't been kind to us and are therefore 2 weeks overdue..the rain can't last much longer..can it? Along with new nets we are replacing the artifical pitch on the square, it will also be re-positioned allowing us to use the centre pitch and create another turf wicket.

 

September 2010

01/09/2010: A warm welcome for our new coach Eddie Joyner, who has just returned to Thailand after a 5 year break, Eddie was the coach responsible for setting up and running the very successful Khon Kaen cricket association and has just been appointed Head Coach for the Thailand u-14 national team by the chief executive of Thailand cricket.

 

August 2010

10/08/2010: Cricket Association Thailand umpiring course in Chiang Mai, CMSCA coaches Martin Papworth and Chris Dodd attend and pass with flying colours!

 
July 2010

10/07/2010: 8 Boys and 6 Girls from Chiang Mai selected for trials in Bangkok. Cricket Thailand's Chief Executive Mohideen Kader was in Chiang Mai last week assessing under 14 boys and under 16 girls from Chiang Mai for trials and possible selection for the Thailand national teams, further details of who has been selected will be posted on the website very shortly, but the 6 girls will be going to Bangkok next week. The final 8 boys to go to Bangkok have yet to be named.

07/07/2010: Cricket demonstration at Sankhayom school, Lamphun. This new school becomes the 11th school in the CMSCA sawasdee cricket program. Report

 
June 2010

19/06/2010: CPP win the U-16 Junior cricket league match play off final. Chol Phratan Phataek v Wat Don Chan school have a close fought game with the winning margin only 11 runs. Report

19/06/2010: The CMSCA celebrate the 10th year anniversary with an evening dinner.

08/06/ 2010: A new school joins the Chiang Mai cricket program, Wat Muangkwap school from Lamphun, many of the children from Croston House attend this school.

05/06/10: CoachIng course; Finally, The Chiang Mai cricket coaches get the chance to get coaching accreditation from the Asian Cricket Council in Bangkok. Read more

01/04/10: Chiang Mai International Cricket Sixes, a very successful competition yet again, but more excitingly for us OVER 140,000 Baht was raised towards our "Sponsor a junior cricketer" appeal.

19/03/10: Makhamwan Games in Phetchabun. Chiangmai under 19 cricket team are now National junior champions of Thailand.
