Chiang Mai junior cricket league.
The league was founded in October 2008 by the Chiang Mai Schools Cricket Alliance. The CMSCA has changed the format for the 2010 - 2011 season, it is now an under 16 league, this is now in line with the Asian Cricket Council guidelines for all Asian Cricket countries. This gives even more opportunity to the Chiang Mai province youngsters to play hardball cricket in a league format using the Gymkhana Sports Club in Chiang Mai and the Prem International school in Mae Rim, as our venues. For the 2009/2010 season we saw an increase of the teams for the competition from 3 to 6, this proved to a great success in the development of junior cricket. The Chiang Mai junior cricket league is a natural step up from the very successful Sawasdee program running in Chiang Mai for the last 10 years.
Cricket is now one of the fastest growing sports in Thailand.
