One year on Nikom has changed from a sullen, troubled boy (left) to a happy young man who is one of the most talented youngsters in the country.

Always listening and learning, Nikom’s ability to work on his technique has meant he has developed into a good batsman and bowler. He has represented Chiang Mai Province in the National Youth Championships in Bangkok in Nov 2009 and 2010 receiving a player of the match award. He also went to the Makhamwan National Youth Games in Petchabun in March 2010 and Uttaradit in 2011 with the province team. Previously Nikom got into trouble at school, but cricket has bought out the best in him giving him purpose and the great experience of playing the game. His hard work has seen him selected for the U-14 Thai national team, where he opened the batting against Malaysia, Hong Kong and Singapore during April 2011. |
